Originally from Bellaire Ohio nestled in the tree-lined valley on the banks of the Ohio River Jay attended Bellaire High School from 1989-1992, after graduating he continued his education at Columbus College of Art and Design majoring in Illustration. There he focused his talents towards the art of animation. It wasn’t long before he landed his big break in the world of feature animation.

 

Jay Shultz has been an animation designer and storyboard artist working in the industry since 1995. One of the first films Jay worked on was Anastasia for Fox Feature Animation doing story boards then later moved onto concept designs for Titian A.E. from there he worked on such projects as Film Roman's King of the Hill doing background layout Disney's Gravity Falls, Warner Brothers SuperHero Girls and Teen Titans Go.. The majority of his career has been spent at Nickelodeon T.V. Animation and Warner Brothers T.V. Animation doing storyboards and background design and layout.

 

Jay Shultz has also published his own series of art book and prints based off his daily sketch blog “ Doodle A Day “ which was started in 2001. Here in his weekly blog where you can see Jay’s drawings, doodles and illustrations and read about current trends, technologies, techniques and whatever else that is happening in the world of art and animation.
